Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what RadioSEM collects, why, and what control you have over it.
1. What We Collect
To run your account and the features you use, we store:
- Account details: your username, email address, your password (stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form), and the country you select.
- Your favourites, so they follow your account rather than a single device.
- Your listening history: which stations you played and for how long. This powers your personal statistics and the trending lists.
- Feedback you choose to send from the app: the category you pick and the message you write, together with your app version, platform and language. We use it only to fix problems and improve RadioSEM.
2. Advertising
The free version of RadioSEM shows ads through Google AdMob, and AdMob and its advertising partners receive data from your device in order to serve them. Where the GDPR applies we ask for your consent first, through Google's standard consent form, and you can change that choice at any time. We do not sell your data. A Premium subscription removes ads entirely.
On iPhone and iPad, RadioSEM also asks for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow it, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalise ads. If you decline, the app keeps working exactly as before and the ads you see are simply not personalised. You can change the answer at any time in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security → Tracking. Android has no equivalent prompt; there the advertising ID is covered by the consent form above.
3. Analytics
We record how the app is used — for example that a station was played, that a stream failed to load, or that a screen was opened — so we can fix broken stations and improve the app. This runs on PostHog installed on our own servers; the data is not sent to a third-party analytics company. We do not record what you search for, and we do not collect your microphone, location, or contacts. Analytics follows the same consent choice as advertising: if you decline, nothing is sent.
4. Device Access
RadioSEM needs internet access to stream stations, and notification permission if you allow reminders. It does not use your microphone, your location, or your contacts, and it does not read files outside its own storage.
5. Your Rights
You can delete your account from the app at any time, which removes your account, favourites, listening history and any feedback you sent from our database, and erases the matching analytics record. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it. Withdrawing analytics or advertising consent stops further collection from that point on.
